Thirteen

No longer a boy
Not yet a man
A heart of a lion
Showing everyone you can
You’ve had your share of ups
Of doubts
And fun was a word
You can define and understand
No longer a boy
Not yet a man
Full of hopes and dreams
Showing everyone you can
And slowly you’re claiming
Silently we’re giving
Soon the boy will cease
Giving way to the man arriving
Thirteen is the gate
To a whole new world
For the boy will soon be a man
Another voice to be heard
On your special day
I beam with pride on the things you’ve done
Happy Birthday my Heaven…
My boy… my son!
I love you!
